Withdrawal of FIRAS certification schemes

Bafsa has been made aware that third-party certification body FIRAS have taken the decision to withdraw the following FIRAS Active Certification Schemes
· Installation of Water Mist Systems
· Installation of Commercial and Industrial Sprinkler Systems
· Installation of Residential and Domestic Sprinkler Systems
They advise the scheme will remain open to existing certified customers until the formal closure date, and their certification will remain live for a period of not less than six months from receiving notification of the scheme closure.
The above schemes will close on the 31st of August 2025 after that date FIRAS will no longer operate these schemes and will cease to provide certification. No new applications into the schemes are being accepted and they will close to existing members on the 31st of August 2025. Any FIRAS Certificates still live as at that date will be withdrawn.
