Over three day last week sprinklers activated to protect a large leisure centre in Nottingham and a recycling plant North Yorkshire. Yet again sprinklers efficiently control spread of fires protecting communities, firefighters and the environment from fire.

Nottingham Leisure & Entertainment Complex Sprinkler Save
Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at the Cornerhouse a large leisure and entertainment complex located in the centre of Nottingham city centre, containing a number of commercial premises. It was established that the premises sprinkler system activated following a fire in the extraction system in one of the commercial premises. On arrival crews established that the fire had been extinguished due to actuation of the sprinkler system

Rufforth Recycling Plant Sprinkler Save
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue attended a fire in a recycling plant building measuring 100m x 25m. The fire was extinguished using firefighting jets and the onsite sprinklers system. Plant machinery was then used to remove the recycling from the building allowing the contents of the building to be turned over.
