SPRINKLER SAVE: Shopping centre, London

Four fire appliances from London Fire Brigade responded to a report of a fire in a commercial unit in a shopping centre in Shepherds Bush.

The cause of the fire was the failure of a capacitor within a fridge compressor compartment.

The shop was fitted with a sprinkler system which activated suppressing the fire until firefighters arrived at the scene. Only a small part of the shop was damaged by fire. No injuries were reported.

Station Officer Gavin Jones was at the scene, he said:
